FORMULA FORD RACE REPORT

26th October 2020

Qualifying: after being drawn in one of the most competitive heats we had a lot to do, with the comprised setup we managed to secure 8th.

Race 1: the conditions worsened and the car felt too slidey, we made our way up to sixth but ended up 9th.

Semi final 1: Started 13th and made my way through to 7th with some brilliant overtakes, ended up on the same pace as the front pack!

Grand final: the weather took a dramatic change and the conditions were tricky as parts of the track were dry and parts were wet, we started 13th and ran 15th for the majority of the race out of 30 drivers, we had good pace and held our own considering the tyre pressures had been set for a drying track which unfortunately never dried.

A safety car was deployed for 3 laps which led to a severe drop in tyre temperature which on the restart meant I had very little grip but knew I had to push as hard as possible to keep position.

Unfortunately I dropped a wheel onto the gravel on the last corner, pulling me in further and ending my race with 2 laps to go.

It was a great weekend and although we had some set up issues, I feel we did the best job possible and to make the final with the best drivers from around the world was great.

I’d like to say a huge Thank you to the team @kevinmillsracing for providing an excellent car all week and helping me get to the grid for this season.

Once again a massive Thank you to my sponsors for making this dream possible - your are all amazing!

This now wraps up the 2020 season, thank you all for you support over this year, and stay tuned for next years season, there is a lot of work to be done now over the winter!

SILVERSTONE RACE REPORT

11th October 2020

This weekend we were at Silverstone for the last round of the national formula ford championship. In qualifying I had good pace and got up to 9th out of 30 drivers then had technical issues with the car which meant I couldn’t complete the rest of the session - 14th was my end result.

For race 1, the team did an amazing job to get the car ready and the issues sorted out and we started 14th and made our way to 10th in tricky conditions and got top rookie in that race! Race  2 began and we started out 10th, I managed to gain a few places up to 8th and then was hit out at turn 3 that damaged my car too much to carry on.

It was a great weekend and a pleasure to win 1st Rookie for Race 2.

19th July 2020

The race season kicked off at Oulton Park this weekend and Reece was very excited to be back doing something he loves. A fantastic result this weekend as Reece wins the First Rookie for the Avon Tyres Northern Formula Ford Championship.

"This weekend was difficult and an all new experience for me, it really tested my limits as a driver and my race craft, however we came away with the top rookie trophy meaning that we were the best of all the new comers into formula ford! I am really looking forward to the next round at Anglesey and we will be focusing on once again being top rookie and for looking for those podium places!"
